Bed bugs
What are they?
- Bed bugs are an insect that feed off of human & animal blood, they are small brown and oval looking.
- When adults they are the size of apple seeds and more red looking after attaching to human and consuming blood.
- Female adult bugs can lay up to hundreds of eggs throughout their lives which is about the size of a little speck of dust.
- Though they do not fly they move very fast over walls, furniture, luggage, floors and ceilings.
- Bed bugs habitat are usually in small cracks close to humans
Signs you have bed bugs
- If you have a reddish almost rusty colored stain on your bedding or on the walls from bed bugs being crushed
- Live bed bugs
- Can be found in walls, wallpaper, furniture and beds
- Also may live in short-term places; for example suitcases and backpacks
- Bed bugs feed at night so more than likely you will wake up with small red bites on your body
How do you get them?
- Bed bugs are hitchhikers they can attach to all types of things especially when traveling in hotels or other locations.
- A good way to avoid that is to keep suitcases away from walls and beds.
- Bed bugs also are very likely to travel in multi-unit buildings
